these sites, or ‘ego-sites’ as a lovely American acquaintance of mine calls them, are frequently stealing moments of my days that i will never recover. I’m wondering if some new statistic will be uncovered in a few years saying that we spend as much time on myspace as in the shower in a lifetime…? well that would be kinda sad. I’m sure there are wonderful, artistic, wise people in the world who have never seen myspace before, and for whom the whole concept would seem like slowing down the whole socializing network in life…or maybe just making it a little more visual and more shallow?? I’m thinking of some cool chief of a clan, maybe in 1700 Scotland, or 2007 Africa and they just aren’t that into myspace. i can’t imagine what the second world war would be like with myspace, or Anne Frank, Elizabeth Bennett,or the working children of New Lanark, or those shipped off the Oz, or slaves bound for America… the contrast of image and culture kind of fascinates me, I’m not trying to be poetic.
anyway, I’d be a hypocrite if i was standing here, and yes i am standing, bemoaning this whole shebang.. i mean, i love myspace…i just find though, that i have to remain opposed to the way that i can’t protect my mind from all the pop-ups and rubbish that soak through these eyes, such as the latest; ”is katie price trash or class? win a free laptop to answer. ”
here are 3 problems,
1- none of the people who will answer it, and they will answer no doubt, have even met or known katie price.
2- if this is to determine whether she’s worthy of her time on Jonathon Ross shows or not, it’s a really annoying way of relegating someone’s whole personality to ‘redundant’
3-dare we have such opinions of people?
just so you know i don’t wanna answer this random question for market research, why not let’s be lovely to one another hmm?
