It’s been an amazing sunny day. I got in from an evening in the park and sat down
in the cool of the flat beside a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the scurrying of the church fish
‘Carpe Diem’.
Last night I brought the fish home and remove it from it’s resting place in the prayer room
of Re:Hope. I figured I would take the little guy under my wing, so to speak, since beginning with him, we all
have to move out of the building in a bit of a scurry- by June 12th.
June 12th.. so soon, so sudden, so strange!
I have grown so accustomed to church life based in and around the building on Great George Street, I scarcely noticed that I had become attached emotionally to the old place. It’s been a total gift of a home for
the last few years- we’ve painted, wallpapered, re-decorated, anointed, loved, cleaned, filled, cleared, slept in, prayed in, and frozen in it. We’ve shared so much life and praised God so many days.
In so many ways it is just a place. It’s just a building, but He has used it to mean so much more in our lives and so I’m really thankful to have been a part of this journey. Now
I find myself a part of the efforts to pray and seek that God will move us on in the way to go with our next step, and I trust Him. My heart is hopeful, I’m sad to leave and yet utterly enthralled and excited to move on as
God moves with us. It seems that if our doors are set to close in less than a fortnight, that God is at work to open another for us, to unlock the bolted ones, to unveil what has been covered up.
I am really seeking some discernment on this one as part of the team, as part of the family- to have the riches of knowledge in where to go. I long to hear and have faith in where God will have us move to…
not in circles like our little fish, but wildly, hopefilled, joyfully, with love and godliness, assuredly and TOGETHER, to move forward for His glory. I’m so thankful
for the family of believers I know as Re:Hope and so glad that God has made us ready to ride this next wave with him leading, already built up and rooted in Him, strengthened in faith and overflowing
with thankfulness, but also built into this moving, living, breathing church without walls.
